Watching 3D Movies at SM Cinema

Today we saw Resident Evil 4: Afterlife at SM cinema here in Baguio. Me and my wife chose to see the 3D show rather than the regular one. We didn't mind paying the extra Php150 to see the 3D movie since it's a great movie which we followed since the first part went out 8 years ago.

We went in the cinema 30 minutes early so we had a pick where to sit. We chose the seats second to the last row, center column, orchestra level.

What's the reason you ask?

We'll, you see, the best place to experience a 3D movie in all its galore is not how far you are from the screen but how near you are. You will really see and feel the beauty of a 3D movie when you are near. Because if you're too far away from the screen, it's like you're watching a regular one.

At first we picked the seats 3rd row from the back of the orchestra but it is way near for us. The screen is big that our peripheral vision couldn’t cover all the the screen. And when it comes to fast moving scenes it is hard to follow the actions especially when you’re wearing the red-blue glasses.

So, we tried the last row but we felt that we are too far away that it is not enough. We tried the second to the last row from the back then...Perfect! We can now see the whole screen and still can feel of being drawn into the movie because of the 3D effect.

So the next time you are going watch a 3D film, why not try the seats we sat on - second to the last row from the back, center column at the orchestra level. And... be early so you can choose the best seat in the house.

Enjoy!
